Populate batch Characteristic values in APO

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to update batch characteristics in APO after execution of a custom application. The update is required on APO related characteristics only and they won’t exist in ECC. Please provide your thoughts with possibilities of updating batch values within APO.

Example: Characteristics Sales order and SO Line item are APO specific and when a custom functionality in APO executed and these chars need to be updated.
