Yes, its possible to directly object link the PPM item to either the project definition, the network, the wbs or the network activity. Of course the necessary configuration needs to be done, but it is standard.
The costs will be transferred to PPM, from which point they can be rolled up to the buckets as usual.
Note that the 'Account Assignment' set of object link types need to be activated and used for the financial transfer.
